Global Health Labs, Inc (GH Labs) today announced that Dr. Shashi Buluswar will step down as CEO and serve as an advisor to the organization through his departure on November 15, 2022.
With the full support of the GH Labs Board of Directors, Dr. Buluswar is stepping down as CEO to focus on pressing family commitments. During his remaining time with the organization, he will closely partner with the Board, Leadership Team, and soon-to-be announced Interim CEO on key activities that ensure a smooth transition.
Dr. Niranjan Bose, Managing Director of Health & Life Sciences at Gates Ventures and GH Labs Board Member said, “Since joining GH Labs, Shashi has been instrumental in setting GH Labs’ multi-year strategic vision and direction, accelerating exciting progress across our long-standing work in Diagnostics and expanded portfolio in Maternal, Neonatal, Child Health and Primary Healthcare.”
Ankur Vora, Chief Strategy Officer at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and GH Labs Board Member thanked Dr. Buluswar for his contributions “in reducing health inequities worldwide, through a model of innovation and deep partnership between our two organizations.”
GH Labs Board Member Elisa Keller added, “Shashi leaves an admirable legacy of humble leadership that supported innovation throughout our strong Leadership Team and GH Labs’ deep bench of talent, setting the organization up for continued success. We wish him and his family all the best.”
Upon announcing his departure, Dr. Buluswar shared his gratitude to the GH Labs Board and Senior Leadership Team, “who demonstrated remarkable grace and understanding as I made the difficult decision to step down. I leave the organization immensely proud of all that we accomplished during my tenure and look forward to the impact GH Labs’ latest innovations will deliver for providers and patients, especially in low- and middle-income countries. It has truly been my honor and privilege to work alongside such remarkable people, advancing GH Labs’ compelling and urgent mission.”
GH Labs will name an Interim CEO in September and plans to appoint a new CEO by the first half of 2023.
